Team USA will wear the Nike Hyperdunk 2012 while competing in the London Games this summer.

But the new Nike Hyper Elite basketball uniforms that will be worn by Team USA in the 2012London Olympicsare lighter and sleeker than the more baggy uniforms worn by players recently.

Deron Williams of the New Jersey Nets, who endorses Nike, modeled the lightweight performance uniforms made from more breathable brics at a Nike event Tuesday.

It almost feels like youre just wearing your tights underneath, Williams said of the uniforms, made in part from an engineered bric that creates mesh areas in a garment without adding seams.

The shorts weigh in at 5 ounces, 14 ounces lighter than the average shorts worn by pro players. The uniforms will boost performance, predicts Martin Lotti, Nikes global creative director for the Olympics.

The uniforms are sleeker, lighter and cooler, Lotti says. The shorts alone are 400 grams lighter. Thats the weight of a full soda can.

Among other products designed for the London Olympics and beyond unveiled Tuesday:

•Nike Hyperdunk lightweight basketball shoes. Besides Team USA, Nike is outfitting the national teams from China and Brazil.

•Nike Pro TurboSpeed track uniforms for sprinters and Nike Flyknit shoes for runners.
